If you know anything about Oprah Winfrey, then you’d know that she constantly advocates living your best life. It’s when you can look back on your life in old age and live without single regret. You’ve done everything and more that you could possibly do in this life. Beyond the obligations, mundane tasks, and procrastination lies a living being. Throughout your life, you will experience a lot of change. It is inevitable. However, what you do have is your current moment. Are you living your best life right now?
We found this inspirational passage in Oprah’s latest March magazine edition, and we just have to share it because it is amazing:
To live content with small means;
to seek elegance rather than luxury,
and refinement rather than fashion;
to be worthy, not respectable; and
wealthy, not rich; to study hard, think
quietly, talk gently, act frankly…to
listen to stars and buds, to babes and
sages, with open heart; await occasions,
hurry never…this is my symphony.
- William Henry Channing
Your life shouldn’t be defined by others. Yet, we all realize that we sometimes get caught up in other people’s rules. Everything that you set forth to do should have a trace of your true self in it. Those with true success have marched to the beat of their own drum, created their own symphony, etc. Own your life. After all, it’s yours.
