About Minority Fortune
Minority Fortune seeks to meet the underserved minority market in the area of wealth building, finance, and investing. The issues within our community are complex and well understood by us here at M.F.

It’s simply time for our community to become financial savvy in order to execute responsibility. We at Minority Fortune are here to help. The goal is to target our readers through a familiar cultural context whilst introducing them to global, financially-awakening concepts.
As we said in our Understanding our Power post,
Money is power. With the right habits, money accrues power, wealth, and respect IF used properly. This blog’s purpose comes into importance to help realize that proper usage because due to lack of knowledge and exposure, our money dries up quicker than a puddle of water in Iraq. Without realizing it, when spending, we transfer our money thus power and wealth over to another company.

Great website, your article on Floyd Mayweather is so true I just wish he stopped all that flashy lifestyle on camera all the time.
We’re not exactly sure what it will take for Floyd to humble himself, but we imagine it comes somewhat in the form of filing for bankruptcy. Thank you so much for visiting!
Great website. Your tips are great on how to build wealth. People really need this advice right now.
Ryan
Thanks, Ryan! We couldn’t agree more!
Great webpage, have you thought about writing a book? All these articles provide great advice for the young minority generation that look up to these so called “role models.”
Everyday at my job, I work in a local car wash, these young people dream about being a great sports athlete or the next singing sensation. They’re not very hardworking people, but I tell them to appreciate where they work because it may be their only job to have if they fail to reach through there dreams. I’ve also advise them to always make a back up plan if they cannot achieve their dreams by going to school and discover new options.
Anon- user you are telling these young people the right thing however it’s unfortunate that in many inner city communities young people’s role model are singing sensations sports figures, and hip hop mogels granted there is absolutely nothing wrong with that because it can evoke their dreams and aspirations the problem is that their first reference of education, influence, character, and integrity should come from their parents because they are the child’s first reference point. If the parent (s) do not lead by example, the child looks for other role models. This to me must be consistently understood not only on a community level but on a national one
I linked to your site through a search on Damon Dash, whom I had some business dealings with a long time ago (when he had money…). You offer invaluable advice. I am not a minority, I am 47 y.o. with wife and two kids. I am a “professional” for whatever that’s worth and have a 6 figure income. My home is in foreclosure due to the economic collapse. I am filing for bankruptcy in a couple of months and owe 80+ k to the IRS. You state that being in debt is worse than prison. Don’t know if that’s true but it is certainly a self-created hell that should be avoided at all costs. I worry for my family’s future, what friends will think, and how the next 10 years of my life are ruined, I’m 47. Everyone should heed your advice that YOUR cash is power and it is no longer YOUR cash once you hand it over to someone else. The misconception that “this TV is only $1500″ or that Ipad is only $500″ is how you get into trouble. We all feel that we need these things to live a happy life. I can tell you to live simply and plan for the future. If I can only heed my own advice…
Thanks for sharing, Kevin! Just facing the situation and admitting your mistakes will certainly build a stronger foundation for your next success (which will come). If you’ve done it before, you will do it again. As long as you have substantial, specialized knowledge, you will always offer something of value to someone. Instead of looking at what you don’t have, look at what you do and build from there. Just know that many millionaires didn’t rise to the top without their own financial issues. Best of luck!
Thanks Kent! We know it’s an uphill battle, but someone’s got to get the message out there! What better way than through the “idols” of these misled youth?
The problem for these children doesn’t end or begin with finance, but if they’re going to live a decent life without being indebted to someone, they’re going to need to become financially empowered. There aren’t enough words in a day to get into the underlying issues, but basically instead of focusing on what’s going wrong with these kids, we’re trying to focus on what we can do to encourage more “going right”. No one tells these kids about finances. If they can’t master that, they’ll have a hard life, which they’ll pass on to their children.

I think your site is great. I wrote a book about how we are great producers, but don’t own what we produce. I also deal with what I think is the underlining reason why we a a people continue to struggle when we don’t have to. For more information, go to, http://www.blackunitythetotalsolution.com
Continued success.
Great Magazine and articles.
